Strategy and Soul is the riveting David versus Goliath story of the campaign against Philadelphia casino development.
Strategy comes to life in the heat of this massive fight — now providing lessons for other movements, showing what it takes to overpower billionaires and corrupt officials for a cause you believe in.
Written by an experienced and unusually self-reflective direct action organizer, this book might be the most enjoyable way you’ve ever empowered yourself to change the world.
Daniel Hunter is a trainer with Training for Change where he trains activists in experiential methodology and campaign strategy. He’s sought all over the world for his expertise at direct action training, from training Canadian postal workers union, to Quaker-based groups fighting mountaintop removal, to international climate activists at Global Power Shift. He has been published in We Have Not Been Moved: Resisting Racism and Militarism in 21st Century America and in Beautiful Trouble: A toolbox for revolution.
The Sydney Campaigners’ Network is a new initiative to connect campaigners, activists, and organisers. SCN holds regular gatherings to discuss ideas, exchange resources and share new approaches to social change.
