MCN_logoCANCELLED

I’m sorry to say that we’ve decided to cancel Sunday’s events for the health and safety of us all! It’s expected the weather will be over 40 degrees and that seems incompatible with picnicking or setting healthy goals.

We’re looking at options for rescheduling and will let you know ASAP.

Extreme weather is becoming an increasing part of the reality we’re all operating in – here’s some helpful hints from the Melbourne Street Medics.

—————–

Get your year off to a great start with a relaxed afternoon with fellow campaigners, activists and organisers!

Reconnect after the holidays, meet new people, and get ready for the challenges ahead.

Picnic by the Yarra followed by workshop at Ross House on Sunday 2 February. Come along to either or both events.

Activist Picnic2

MCN Picnic

12:30 – 2pm by the Yarra.

We’ll set up a few metres from the Riverland Bar, just below Federation Square. Look for the blue and yellow bunting! BYO snacks to share. Friends, partners and children welcome.

MCN Session: Healthy Activist Goals

2 – 4pm, Ross House, 247 Flinders Lane.

The world’s messed up and there is a lot of activist work to do – but how do we stay happy and well while we do it? Take this time to plan for your health and wellbeing, with support from others who are also working to change the world. Bring along your new years’ resolutions and hear some fresh ideas about making 2014 your best year yet.

The session will be facilitated by Holly Hammond and Helen Cox, convenors of the Plan to Thrive blog. Entry by donation: $10 suggested.

This is a Melbourne Campaigner’s Network event. MCN holds regular gatherings for campaigners, activists, and organisers to discuss ideas, exchange resources and discover new approaches to social change.
